How to activate an MVNO postpaid plan

On the application screen, choose postpaid under usage type, then enter your postpaid plan and payment details. You use the service first and pay the next month by auto-debit in your own name.

You can activate an MVNO postpaid plan only if you have no overdue amounts, unpaid bills, or micropayment balance with your current carrier.

What you need for postpaid activation

With four things (ID, a simple authentication certificate, a SIM, and payment details) you can apply by yourself.

If you have not chosen a plan yet, start by comparing MVNO postpaid plans. You can check SIMs on SIM and eSIM.

Postpaid activation, following the screens

  1. Choose your carrier

    Tap Activate with KT or Activate with LG. The pictures show the KT example.

  2. Choose new sign-up

    Choose new sign-up screen

    Under sign-up type, tap New sign-up. To keep your current number, tap Number porting.

  3. Face verification

    Match your face and ID at the address shown. If you fail 3 times, you move on to the next step.

  4. Simple authentication

    Verify your identity with the certificate you have.

  5. Choose postpaid under usage type

    Choose postpaid for usage type and SIM owned for SIM status.

  6. Enter the SIM number

    For KT, enter 19 digits in one field. For LG, enter the model name and serial number in two fields.

  7. Choose a postpaid plan

    For KT, find your plan under the KT postpaid partner tab. For LG, find it under the LG postpaid tab.

  8. Payment details and activation

  9. Answer the confirmation call

How do I use KT postpaid partner coupons?

The benefits of KT postpaid partner plans are used by registering the coupon or verification code you receive by text message in the partner’s app. Please register the coupon within 30 days of the issue date.

How to verify with CU

After verification, you get 20% off at CU (up to 5,000 KRW per month). In stores, show the mobile gift certificate barcode.

  9. Check your benefits

    You can see your remaining limit on the partner verification screen.

  • You can use the coupon for 30 days from the sign-up date. If you keep the plan through day 31, you receive it once a month by text message.
  • If you do not register within 30 days, the coupon disappears and cannot be issued again. Refunds and cash withdrawals are not possible.
  • Show the Daiso gift certificate in stores or register it on Daiso Mall. For the Olive Young gift certificate, show the barcode in stores or enter the number when you pay on the online mall.
  • For Millie’s Library, sign up or log in to the Millie’s Library app, then tap “Start KT MVNO partner subscription”.
  • For help with using or registering coupons, contact the Giftishow customer center at 1588-6474. If a coupon does not arrive, contact the N-Telecom customer center at 1899-7700 (114 from an N-Telecom phone).

Postpaid phone bill discount cards: how much can I save?

If you pay your postpaid bill by auto-debit to an eligible card, you get a phone bill discount from 300,000 KRW of last month’s spending. With the November 2026 promotion added, you get up to 15,000 KRW for KT and up to 22,000 KRW for LG. Prepaid plans are not eligible.

How to meet the spending requirement

  • You get the discount if you spend 300,000 KRW or more at domestic and overseas merchants from the 1st to the last day of last month.
  • From the day you first register the card until the end of the next month, you get the lowest-tier benefit regardless of spending.
  • Public transit, phone bills, auto-payments, and overseas payments are counted from the time the card company receives them.
  • If an approval is canceled, that amount is removed from your spending.

Cash advances, card loans, annual fees, late fees, all kinds of fees and interest, taxes and public utility bills (the four major social insurances, electricity, city gas, water and sewage, etc.), school payments, university tuition, apartment management fees, purchases and top-ups of gift and prepaid cards, and gift certificate purchases

Good to know when you get the discount

  • If your phone bill is lower than the discount limit, only the amount of the phone bill is discounted. For example, if the limit is 13,000 KRW and the bill is 10,000 KRW, 10,000 KRW is discounted.
  • Any unused limit does not carry over to the next month.
  • If you get the card reissued, please set up auto-payment again.
  • If auto-debit fails because of a loss report or an insufficient limit, no discount is given.

November promotion conditions

  • It runs from November 1 to 30.
  • You must have no BC Baro credit card payment history from May 1 to October 31, and must not have canceled an eligible promotion card through October 31.
  • If you set up auto-payment of your KT MVNO phone bill, you get an additional discount for 24 months.
  • It applies to phone bill payments of 15,000 KRW or more in a single payment.
  • Please start auto-payment by the month after you first register the card. A month in which the conditions are not met is also deducted from the count.

The overdue interest rate is the contract rate plus up to 3 percentage points, within the legal maximum rate (20% per year). If postpaid is not possible or you need another way

  • If you still have overdue amounts, unpaid bills, or a micropayment balance with your current carrier, postpaid is not possible. Please check prepaid new sign-up.
  • If you have only financial arrears and no phone bill arrears, postpaid is also possible, but in a credit delinquency situation, prepaid new sign-up goes more smoothly.
  • If you have unpaid N-Telecom bills, activation goes through after you pay them off.
  • For a corporate name, visit the center and activate a standard postpaid plan.
  • Sole proprietors can activate online. Tax invoices are processed after your personal and business names are linked. Request the link by visiting a center or calling 114.
  • For a minor’s name, activate by visiting a center.
  • Foreigners get 1 line per person and can only use in-person activation, bringing a passport or Alien Registration Card.

MVNO postpaid activation FAQ

How do I meet the spending requirement for the postpaid discount card?

Your card spending from the 1st to the last day of last month needs to be 300,000 KRW or more. Taxes and public utility bills, apartment management fees, gift certificate purchases, and similar items are not counted. In the first period after you start using the card, you get the first-tier benefit regardless of spending.

Do prepaid plans get the discount card discount too?

No. It applies when you pay your postpaid phone bill by auto-debit to the card.

Can I activate postpaid if I have unpaid bills?

Only if you have no overdue amounts, unpaid bills, or micropayment balance with your current carrier. If any remain, apply after paying in full, or check prepaid new sign-up.

Can I activate postpaid with a credit delinquency?

If you have only financial arrears and no phone bill arrears, postpaid is also possible, but in a credit delinquency situation, prepaid new sign-up goes more smoothly.

Can I use a family member’s bank account for auto-debit?

At activation, only an account in your own name can be registered. After activation, you can apply to change it to a family member’s name in the Membership app.

Can I change the payment date?

No. It is fixed at the 25th for KT and the 15th for LG.

Can I port my number with postpaid too?

Yes. Choose number porting under sign-up type and follow the same steps. Please finish between 10:00 AM and 7:30 PM, Monday to Saturday.

Can I change my current prepaid phone to postpaid?

For KT, you can change it by visiting in person. LG prepaid cannot be changed to postpaid. To port from another company’s prepaid to N-Telecom postpaid, visit a center and fill out the paperwork.

What happens if I do not register the partner coupon?

After 30 days from the issue date it disappears and cannot be issued again. Please register it as soon as you receive the text message.

Do I have to answer the confirmation call after activation?

Yes. If you do not answer the activation confirmation call from 1899-7700, your service may be suspended or canceled.
